Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, performance, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform primarily operating on AWS.

• Ensure architectural choices maintain portability across GCP, Azure, and other cloud service providers.

• Take ownership of the technical direction for the platform.

• Mentor senior engineers to enhance their skills and performance.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality systems rapidly.

• Manage a team of 10–15 developers by setting objectives, conducting one-on-ones, fostering career growth, recruiting talent, and eliminating obstacles.

• Balance the delivery of the roadmap with the overall health of engineering: focusing on code quality, system reliability, on-call practices, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in leadership roles within engineering teams.

• Extensive expertise in architecting distributed systems on AWS, including compute, networking, data, IAM, and observability.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and a well-defined perspective on creating maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven history of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to develop engineers, recruit effectively, and lead a team that consistently delivers results.

• **Nice to have**

• Experience with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and containerization.

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer.
