Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, performance, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform, primarily hosted on AWS.

• Guarantee that architectural choices maintain portability across GCP, Azure, and other cloud service providers.

• Take ownership of the platform's technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership.

• Lead a team of 10–15 developers — establishing goals, conducting one-on-ones, fostering career growth, recruiting, and eliminating obstacles.

• Balance the delivery of the roadmap with the health of engineering: ensuring code quality, system reliability, on-call practices, and enhancing developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• In-depth knowledge of architecting distributed systems on AWS (including compute, networking, data, IAM, and observability).

• Strong background in Node.js, with a clear perspective on developing maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven track record of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, make effective hiring decisions, and lead a consistently high-performing team.

• **Nice to have**

• Experience with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and containerization).

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
