Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the architecture, performance, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform primarily operating on AWS.

• Guarantee that architectural choices maintain portability across GCP, Azure, and other cloud service providers.

• Take ownership of the platform's technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality systems swiftly.

• Oversee a team of 10–15 developers — establishing objectives, conducting one-on-ones, fostering career growth, recruiting, and eliminating obstacles.

• Balance the delivery of the roadmap with engineering health, focusing on code quality, system reliability, on-call hygiene, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles within engineering teams.

• Extensive expertise in architecting distributed systems on AWS (compute, networking, data, IAM, observability).

• Strong Node.js proficiency with a definitive perspective on creating maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven history of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to nurture engineers, make effective hiring decisions, and manage a team that delivers consistently.

• Experience with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization).

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
