Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, performance, and scalability of our Node.js-driven platform primarily hosted on AWS.

• Ensure that architectural choices maintain portability across GCP, Azure, and other cloud providers.

• Take ownership of the platform's technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality systems efficiently.

• Lead a team of 10–15 developers — establishing goals, conducting 1:1 meetings, fostering career growth, recruiting, and eliminating obstacles.

• Balance the roadmap delivery with engineering health, focusing on code quality, system reliability, on-call practices, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

• Extensive knowledge in architecting distributed systems on AWS (compute, networking, data, IAM, observability).

• Strong foundation in Node.js and a clear perspective on creating maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven success in enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed within production environments.

• Demonstrated ability to develop engineers, recruit effectively, and manage a team that consistently delivers.

• **Nice to have**

• Familiarity with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization).

• Experience in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
