Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

📋 Description

• Lead the design, performance optimization, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform primarily hosted on AWS.

• Ensure that architectural choices maintain compatibility across GCP, Azure, and other cloud service providers.

• Oversee the technical vision of the platform, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality systems efficiently.

• Manage a team of 10–15 developers by setting objectives, conducting one-on-ones, fostering career development, recruiting, and eliminating obstacles.

• Balance the delivery of the roadmap with engineering health, focusing on code quality, system reliability, on-call practices, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles for engineering teams.

• Extensive expertise in architecting distributed systems on AWS (including compute, networking, data, IAM, and observability).

• Strong background in Node.js and a well-defined perspective on developing maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems that can operate on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven history of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, make effective hiring decisions, and lead a team that consistently delivers.

• Experience with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization).

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or developer-oriented products.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
