Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belarus.

📋 Description

• **What you'll do**

• Take charge of the architecture, performance, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform, primarily hosted on AWS. Although our applications are currently deployed on AWS, they are designed to be hyperscaler-agnostic, and your role will involve ensuring that architectural choices maintain this portability across GCP, Azure, and other cloud providers. You will be responsible for the technical direction of the platform, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality systems efficiently.

• Additionally, you will oversee a team of 10–15 developers — establishing goals, conducting 1:1 meetings, fostering career growth, recruiting, and removing obstacles. You will need to balance roadmap delivery with engineering health, focusing on code quality, system reliability, on-call hygiene, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• **What we're looking for**

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in leadership roles within engineering teams.

• Extensive knowledge in architecting distributed systems on AWS (compute, networking, data, IAM, observability).

• Solid Node.js experience and a definitive perspective on creating maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven history of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in production environments.

• Demonstrated ability to develop engineers, make successful hires, and manage a team that consistently delivers results.

• **Nice to have**

• Familiarity with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization).

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
