Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a distributed team of engineers, both in-office and remote, ensuring alignment and consistent, high-quality output.

• Oversee a portfolio of simultaneous initiatives with varying profiles, including internal governance systems, audit activities, and automation systems that support product features.

• Collaborate with Corporate Development, Security, and product teams during acquisition processes to evaluate risk and standardize access and policy-as-code guidelines across newly acquired infrastructures.

• Strive for operational excellence: monitor and enhance risk and reliability, manage on-call duties and incident response, and continuously assess new capabilities (including AI-assisted tools) to safely increase velocity.

• Convey your organization's initiatives and priorities to senior leadership, clearly and concisely communicating progress, risks, and trade-offs.

• Work closely with the Senior Director of Cloud Infrastructure to align on the organization’s roadmap, priorities, and team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a comparable people management position, with a background in hands-on, technical roles.

• Proven ability to manage and govern enterprise-grade AWS environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of key AWS services and concepts.

• Familiarity with modern DevOps methodologies, including Infrastructure as Code and the GitOps model of development.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, effectively working with Product Management, Security, CIO, and fellow engineering leaders to achieve results.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to represent your organization’s work to senior leadership and articulate trade-offs clearly.

• Prior experience with security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, FedRAMP, ISMAP) and supporting audits.

• Familiarity with tools such as Claude and Cursor, with the ability to apply them responsibly to enhance speed and quality.

• Experience with non-AWS cloud providers like GCP and Azure.

• Knowledge of reporting tools such as Wiz and Snowflake.
