This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the planning and execution of the generative model, geometry pipeline, and BDG APIs.
• Collaborate with Product Managers early in the process to outline PRDs, identify constraints, and evaluate feasibility before engineering leads assume responsibility for delivery.
• Assess technical proposals from your team and forward them appropriately — to the Director of Engineering if they pertain to your team, or to the ARC if they span multiple squads.
• Work alongside other BDG Engineering Managers to maintain a cohesive technical direction, interfaces, and platform across both teams.
• Establish a clear contract between the building model and Higharc Studio's interaction and rendering systems as its API surface evolves.
• Mentor and develop engineers while attracting top talent in computational geometry and CAD throughout North America.
• Operate a minimal-meeting, async-first team with defined ownership and a strong sense of accountability.
• A minimum of 5 years in software engineering, with substantial experience in CAD/CAM or computational geometry, and at least 2 years managing technically proficient engineering teams.
• Extensive knowledge in computational geometry, including but not limited to boolean operations, mesh processing, BReps, constraint solving, or similar domains.
• Proficient in parametric and generative modeling of 2D and 3D geometries — including feature-based modeling, history graphs, dependency propagation, and maintaining robust parametric systems at scale.
• Experience in platform development and API design for various internal (and preferably external) users, with a focus on versioning, performance, and developer experience.
• Understanding of geometry kernels — whether commercial, open-source, or custom-built — and the associated trade-offs.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted software development practices and a proven record of incorporating them into your engineering processes.
• A successful delivery history in a dynamic, distributed environment.
• Must be located in the US or Canada.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• Unlimited paid time off (PTO).
• Generous maternity/paternity leave for all full-time employees based in the U.S.
• Stipend to create an optimal home office setup.
