Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

• Lead a dynamic Engineering team focused on developing cutting-edge data and AI tools.

• Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, Product Managers, Architects, and the Executive team to deliver exceptional products.

• Set objectives for the team and individual contributors.

• Understand and articulate the team’s mission and goals.

• Inspire the team and foster a productive and enjoyable work atmosphere.

• Engage proactively with stakeholders and the Product Manager’s team.

• Create feedback loops and provide immediate constructive feedback.

• Participate in performance evaluations.

• Facilitate technical discussions and conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality.

• Address technical and interpersonal issues as needed.

• Oversee the overall quality of the team’s output.

• Mentor team members and promote their personal and professional development.

• Elevate systemic challenges and obstacles to the manager.

• Direct the team’s recruitment and hiring initiatives.

• Monitor progress, assess risks, coordinate delivery, and communicate mitigation strategies.

• Utilize system-analysis techniques and consult users to define functional requirements.

• Complete onboarding and deploy code to production within the first month.

• Lead the team from the planning phase through to delivery.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members.

• Build an understanding of the team's mission, limitations, and capabilities.

• Foster cross-functional relationships and contribute to engineering-wide enhancements.

• Lead the delivery of at least one significant product-wide feature within the first year.

• Establish annual goals and objectives for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience with back-end and front-end technologies, as well as databases.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, PostgreSQL/Supabase databases, clean code principles, development practices, and automated testing methodologies.

• At least 2 years of prior experience leading an Engineering team.

• Proven success in delivering products as both an engineer and an engineering manager.

• Experience managing small teams with a high degree of autonomy and minimal process overhead.

• Ability to balance implementation time with performance, fault tolerance, security, and long-term maintenance considerations.

• Capability to evaluate technical architecture trade-offs in real-time during design discussions.

• Strong skills in code review and the ability to articulate code-quality decisions.

• Active and demonstrated experience as an AI-focused engineer.

• Familiarity with AI development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor.

• Genuine interest in LLMs and AI-assisted engineering.

• Excellent communication skills, including clear writing, direct feedback, and effective facilitation.

• Exceptional individual contributor abilities.

• Experience with data labeling, video/audio media processing, or PDF manipulation is advantageous.

• Familiarity with LangGraph or LangChain is preferred.

• Knowledge of Redis, Kafka, and caching and queuing technologies is a plus.

• Familiarity with NextJS, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and GraphQL is a plus.

• Experience designing and building AI Agents, MCP servers, and data classification components for training LLMs is an advantage.

• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure on GCP or AWS is a plus.
