This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +13 more states.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team through regular one-on-ones, immediate coaching, and goal-setting sessions, providing technical direction to cultivate a culture of ongoing improvement.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within the defined scope.
• Manage team capacity and workload, facilitating a balanced distribution of tasks and responsibilities.
• Guide your team’s performance using a servant and transformational leadership approach, ensuring high speed and quality in deliverables.
• Engage in architectural discussions, code evaluations, and troubleshooting to uphold high coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to outline project requirements and execute the Empowered Product Team model, ensuring alignment on objectives and a shared understanding of the project vision.
• Promote long-term thinking and innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences and contribute to product success.
• Actively seek opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and optimization to improve team effectiveness while maintaining high velocity, ownership, and accountability.
• Represent your engineering team in cross-functional projects and interact with other leaders and stakeholders to advocate for the team’s needs and contributions.
• Keep abreast of technology trends and engineering best practices.
• Motivate the team to investigate new methodologies and tools.
• A minimum of three years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar role, demonstrating a solid record of leading an engineering team’s execution in a SaaS environment.
• Proven experience in tailoring a team's development techniques and processes to meet customer and product needs.
• A successful manager with a history of enhancing the impact of their team members.
• Current coding experience is not mandatory, but significant prior experience in software development is critical.
• Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
