This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and guide a team of engineers, overseeing their output, technical choices, career advancement, and project priorities.
• Serve as a thoughtful technical advisor, assisting your team in making informed architectural decisions.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering leaders, product management, design, and customer success to execute the roadmap effectively.
• Function as a real-time product manager for ongoing projects—clarifying requirements, eliminating ambiguity, and making scoping decisions to keep the team progressing. Take ownership of team execution from planning and prioritization to delivery, ensuring commitments are upheld and obstacles are swiftly addressed.
• Manage support escalations and work in partnership with customer success to triage, prioritize, and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Accountable for timely and high-quality feature development by the team, employing scope and innovative problem-solving to identify the best delivery paths.
• Oversee testing outcomes and quality checkpoints, collaborating with DevOps to maintain and enhance build pipelines and CI/CD processes. Foster a culture of code quality, testing, and engineering best practices within the team.
• Continuously assess and enhance performance against the team's KPIs, ensuring the team not only delivers but also evolves.
• Manage the team's delivery health—monitoring cycle time, work in progress (WIP), and velocity to pinpoint bottlenecks and facilitate ongoing improvement.
• Engage in hiring, onboarding, and expanding the engineering team as Prokeep grows.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and career development discussions with direct reports.
• 3-5+ years of experience leading engineering teams in SaaS software companies, including direct management of engineers at various seniority levels.
• Proven track record of developing talent and retaining high performers.
• Proficient knowledge in at least one area of our technology stack: Elixir, React, React Native, or AWS.
• Practical experience leading Agile or Kanban/Lean sprint teams, showing measurable improvements in velocity, quality, or delivery timelines.
• Experience in scoping, planning, and consistently delivering software, including developing and refining the processes that support it.
• Ability to establish clear goals and expectations for teams and individuals, monitor progress, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Experience managing projects from start to finish in ambiguous or fast-paced environments where priorities may shift.
• Excellent communicator with a background in translating technical contexts for non-technical stakeholders and advocating for engineering needs across functions.
• Familiarity with instrumentation, observability, and tooling practices that enhance engineering team performance and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable operating in a startup or high-growth environment where structures are still being established.
