Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of software engineers responsible for developing network observability, DNS control plane, and network interface software.

• Hire, supervise, and nurture the growth of software developers.

• Establish strong cross-functional partnerships with engineering teams to ensure solutions align with their requirements.

• Maintain a strong emphasis on agility, scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

• Develop Netflix's network observability capabilities and direct the creation of a visibility platform for understanding, debugging, and securing traffic.

• Enhance the distributed system control plane to facilitate safe DNS management at Netflix.

• Proven experience as a Software Engineering Leader.

• A product-focused leader who comprehends customer needs and is passionate about building critical high-scale platforms.

• Leadership that views the engineering process as a product, identifying friction in how the team builds, ships, and resolves software issues.

• Strong emphasis on software development, with a history of simplifying complex problems and guiding teams to deliver efficient, effective solutions to customers.

• An outcome-oriented mindset combined with first-principles thinking.

• Experience in building and operating complex distributed systems at scale.

• Familiarity with building or consuming the networking stack of a public cloud is advantageous.

• Ability to navigate through organizational complexities to achieve shipping goals.

• Capacity to proactively address cross-team dependencies, migration sequencing, and competing priorities.

• Skill in building consensus and influencing peer teams to advance initiatives.

• A solid understanding of Layer 3/Layer 4 networking and network security is a plus.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
