Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers involved in the design, development, and upkeep of product features.

• Ensure that the quality of code and design is in line with industry best practices and maintains high standards.

• Provide coaching to team members on advanced design, architecture, effort estimation, and testing methodologies.

• Offer constructive feedback to engineers regarding their daily job performance.

• Support the individual learning and development plans of engineers.

• Initiate the recruitment process and allocate the necessary resources to bolster the team.

• Identify and eliminate obstacles or assist the team in doing so.

• Supervise the implementation of the software development lifecycle.

• Lead a specialized engineering team focused on building and scaling Focal, with an emphasis on innovation, reliability, and impactful customer solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from a prestigious institution in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• A decade of experience in software engineering, ideally within SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.

• Prior experience in team leadership roles.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical solutions to both end-users and engineering teams.

• Proficient at succinctly explaining complex issues related to systems and processes.

• Familiarity with multiple programming languages.

• Strong understanding of system design and principles of distributed computing.

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Scrum agile framework and various software development methodologies.
