This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and mentor a group of software engineers delivering secure and scalable solutions for Zipline's enterprise clientele.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to define, prioritize, and implement solutions.
• Manage a technical debt roadmap for your teams, pinpointing and organizing debt reduction initiatives.
• Promote the use of AI and agentic development methodologies within your teams.
• Establish and uphold team processes that facilitate asynchronous, remote-first collaboration.
• Advocate for your teams to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain exceptional engineers, nurturing a cooperative atmosphere.
• Focus on team wellbeing, individual health, and career development.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering management position, leading teams of senior individual contributors.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in a production environment.
• Proven expertise with AI-assisted and agentic development practices.
• Maintain a technical debt roadmap while balancing debt reduction with feature delivery.
• Experience in coaching and developing engineers, with a history of promotions and career advancement.
• Strong and persuasive communication skills, particularly in a remote-first setting.
• Background in designing and managing distributed systems, APIs, and web applications.
