This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.
• We are seeking an Engineering Manager to assist in the growth and development of our Databases Metrics teams.
• Our managers play a vital role in fostering a productive atmosphere for our engineers, whether it's by eliminating blockers and impediments, promoting collaboration and understanding across teams, or empowering the team to enhance and refine their working practices continuously.
• You will be accountable for leading a team of engineers focused on our Metrics products and helping them achieve peak performance.
• The primary emphasis of this role is on people management, yet you should possess sufficient technical expertise to oversee a highly technical team and product.
• Manage, recruit, and nurture a team of engineers, offering regular feedback and facilitating each individual’s growth through career discussions.
• You will serve as a project manager while collaborating with product owners to ensure that the product roadmap is clearly defined and consistently updated.
• You have a robust technical background and are capable of engaging in technical discussions, encouraging teams to arrive at sound technical decisions independently.
• You must be comfortable working with engineering teams that have a strong sense of autonomy in their decision-making, whether related to technical or product matters.
• Interaction with customers will occasionally take place, as most of our clients are large companies utilizing Mimir to monitor their operations.
• While you excel in interpersonal skills and relationship management, you also stay informed about the latest technical trends and developments to enhance your understanding of the challenges faced by your teams.
• Ideally, you will hold a Computer Science degree or possess equivalent experience gained from working as an engineer before transitioning into management.
• Our development is conducted in Go; we are Cloud Native and deploy on Kubernetes across all Cloud Service Providers using Helm and Jsonnet. Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm is advantageous, and knowledge of distributed systems is valued.
