Engineering Manager – Analytics House

📋 Description

• Lead a team of engineers, taking responsibility for both delivery and professional growth.

• Foster continuous enhancements in team processes, delivery efficiency, technical quality, and overall team development.

• Nurture engineers through one-on-ones, growth strategies, performance evaluations, and constructive feedback.

• Cultivate tech leads, aspiring engineering managers, and staff-level individual contributors.

• Write and review code while providing guidance on architectural and technical design choices.

• Maintain engineering standards through pull-request evaluations and a robust release process.

• Spearhead AI-augmented engineering methodologies while ensuring quality benchmarks are met.

• Take ownership of team commitments, including planning, prioritization, roadmap execution, and ensuring delivery quality.

• Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner and Product team regarding scope, sequencing, and trade-offs.

• Align engineering initiatives with broader organizational goals and adjust staffing and priorities as needed.

• Manage hiring, interviewing, recruiting, coaching, and performance-related decisions for the team.

• Mentor peer engineering managers and enhance the management talent pool.

• Relay context and escalations to leadership effectively.

• Empower senior engineers and provide coaching to team members.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and other departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management with active coding duties.

• Practical experience in developing cloud-based SaaS solutions and managing production services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Proven experience in overseeing availability, costs, and customer-facing product interfaces.

• An API-first product mindset that accommodates both human and agent interactions.

• Strong expertise in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery.

• Demonstrated ability to significantly enhance an engineering team through improvements in delivery speed, technical quality, or team caliber.

• In-depth technical knowledge of the team’s main stack; capable of reading, writing, and reviewing code at a senior level.

• A clear philosophy regarding hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making.

• Exceptional judgment in high-pressure situations and accountability for results.

• Direct and candid communication skills.
