Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assume technical leadership for Echosec, Strategic Entity Data, and Identify.

• Direct the technical strategy and architecture that integrates three product surfaces.

• Lead the Echosec platform, a well-established Laravel application operating on Kubernetes.

• Enhance the Python AI service for natural language search, summarization, and agentic reporting on threat data.

• Manage the Strategic Entity Data API and ingestion pipeline, making decisions related to cost, scalability, and data quality.

• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and engineering teams throughout Flashpoint.

• Develop a team of senior engineers, overseeing career trajectories, promotions, and performance evaluations.

• Act as the representative for the team during KPI reviews, commitment assessments, and cross-team architecture discussions.

• Build team relationships, comprehend organizational planning, and provide an initial evaluation within the first 30 days.

• Set the team's operational cadence and outline the roadmap for the next quarter within 60 days.

• Define technical direction, manage the quarterly commitment cycle, and become the main technical point of contact within 90 days.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience leading a team of five to eight engineers responsible for a customer-facing product from start to finish.

• Ownership of roadmap, architecture, and on-call responsibilities.

• Experience with production workloads on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Skill in enhancing a mature application without the need for a complete rewrite.

• Familiarity with managing a quarterly commitment cycle from beginning to end.

• Direct management experience with engineers, including conducting performance discussions, supporting career growth, advocating for promotions, and participating in hiring processes.

• Production experience with a mature server-side web application at scale.

• Proficiency in PHP and Laravel, or a comparable level of expertise in another framework with a strong willingness to work in Laravel.

• Practical experience managing services on Kubernetes with managed Postgres and Redis in a public cloud environment.

• Experience in ensuring production reliability, involving on-call rotations, incident command, post-incident reviews, and executing follow-up actions.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Must not require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally in the United States.
