This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Enhance visibility into the efforts, ownership, and delivery risks of external engineering teams.
• Create realistic and transparent delivery plans aligned with business priorities.
• Recognize delays early and investigate their root causes.
• Question weak plans, unrealistic estimates, ambiguous ownership, and superficial status updates.
• Confirm that reported progress accurately reflects actual engineering output.
• Enhance planning and forecasting through evidence-based delivery methods.
• Monitor quality metrics such as escaped bugs, rework, release readiness, and quality gates.
• Manage dependencies, obstacles, and escalation processes across teams.
• Evaluate the composition, role coverage, seniority, ownership, and capability gaps of external teams.
• Identify delivery and quality challenges stemming from team setup, skill deficiencies, allocation, leadership, or unclear requirements.
• Ensure external teams adhere to company delivery protocols, documentation standards, engineering practices, quality gates, and reporting requirements.
• Develop vendor and team delivery scorecards.
• Convey delivery status, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating issues into business implications.
• Over 7 years of experience in software delivery, technical/engineering delivery management, technical program management, or engineering leadership.
• Proven track record of managing delivery across multiple external teams, vendors, or distributed partners.
• Experience supervising engineering teams, vendors, or delivery groups of approximately 20–35 individuals.
• Familiarity with various business models or product environments is a significant plus.
• Strong grasp of software development lifecycles, agile delivery, estimation, release planning, QA workflows, and engineering team dynamics.
• Ability to develop delivery reporting and analysis while identifying reporting gaps.
• Proficiency in delivery metrics such as planned vs. actual, cycle time, throughput, escaped bugs, rework, blocked work, and predictability.
• Experience in risk and dependency management.
• Exceptional communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Practical experience with tools like Jira, GitHub, Confluence, Linear, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in multi-product SaaS environments and companies reliant on external engineering partners is a plus.
• Experience in developing vendor scorecards or delivery performance frameworks is advantageous.
• Familiarity with implementing Definition of Ready/Done, release checklists, or quality gates is a plus.
