This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
β’ Assist R&D initiatives focused on grid modeling and stability assessments involving high levels of inverter-based renewable resources and extensive load analysis.
β’ Engage in research within intricate, high-impact technical or scientific domains.
β’ Execute technical searches and evaluate information to support the project team.
β’ Create User Defined Models to enhance renewable energy integration, microgrid design, and data center interconnection.
β’ Masterβs degree in Electrical Engineering.
β’ Specialization in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems.
β’ Significant experience in control system theory and analysis.
β’ Extensive expertise in power system stability analysis, particularly in small signal stability and frequency spectrum analysis.
β’ Knowledge of wind/solar inverter modeling in EMT and RMS domains.
β’ Familiarity with generic models for inverters and loads.
β’ Strong proficiency in electromagnetic transients simulation tools, ideally PSCAD and EMTP.
β’ Robust experience with electromechanical dynamics simulation tools, preferably PSS/E and PSLF.
β’ Advanced programming skills, preferably in Python and C/Matlab.
β’ Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities.
β’ Experience with Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) and User Defined Model (UDM) development.
β’ Capability to engage in technical activities with minimal direct supervision.
