This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Support an operational environment that fosters a culture of continuous improvement by implementing and maintaining effective systems.
• Drive improvements in productivity while leading, coaching, motivating, and engaging work teams to achieve operational goals.
• Collaborate with sites to enhance Covia’s Operations Management System, focusing on increasing work effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provide the necessary tools and strategies for teams to achieve their objectives.
• Assist in identifying systems that aid in debottlenecking and preventing loss.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of Continuous Improvement (CI) projects aimed at enhancing productivity, energy efficiency, and growth.
• Continuously assess personnel and work processes with the goal of fostering improvement.
• Identify innovative concepts and strategies for enhancing operational optimization processes.
• Facilitate workshops aimed at problem-solving and generating ideas throughout the organization.
• Deliver lean manufacturing training to staff members.
• Ensure that plant personnel receive comprehensive training on processes and new systems.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Ways of Working.
• Focus on the development of KPIs, Visual Performance Boards, 5S, and Skills Training Matrix.
• Build and nurture a robust culture of personal and process safety across the organization.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Engineering, or Science from an accredited institution is required.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or mining, specifically focusing on Production, Maintenance, and Energy initiatives.
• Ability to train plant employees in problem-solving techniques to achieve results.
• Self-driven to address challenges and navigate obstacles.
• Willingness to openly discuss opportunities for enhancing business performance.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Strong analytical and technical abilities, capable of solving complex problems, innovating, and possessing a strategic business perspective along with financial acumen.
