This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Manage a team of engineers, designers, and staff either on a project basis or through individual initiatives.
• Oversee, evaluate, comment on, and process equipment and system submissions.
• Supervise the process coordination among architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and all electrical trades.
• Direct the creation of designs, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems for photovoltaic (PV), distributed generation (DG), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and medium voltage (MV) systems.
• Facilitate coordination among civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, operational, field teams, and all electrical trades.
• Manage the development of power system single-line diagrams, detailing feeders, over-current protection sizing, and equipment elevations.
• Oversee or conduct short circuit and over-current protection device coordination studies as well as Arc Flash studies.
• Supervise or perform distribution analyses, including voltage drop, voltage droop, and underground heat effect (Neher-McGrath) calculations.
• Manage project specifications and coordinate with equipment manufacturers.
• Conduct site visits to survey existing electrical conditions.
• Oversee or utilize engineering analysis software and professional judgment to assess loads, energy production, lighting levels, and short circuit currents.
• Conduct value engineering assessments to analyze construction costs.
• Lead project design team meetings and collaborate with various stakeholders, especially the client, architect, contractors, and engineers from different disciplines.
• Work closely with the Rosendin Project Manager to align design criteria with budget considerations and project deliverable schedules.
• Investigate and resolve drawing interpretation issues, conflicts, interferences, and errors that arise during project installation.
• Create project specifications that are suitable for the relevant project.
• Develop a comprehensive and precise sequence of operations for all designed systems.
• Possess a working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning processes.
• Execute tasks involving conventional electrical engineering practices related to the design of high-tech, mission-critical facilities in health, commercial, industrial, high-rise residential, and other sectors.
• Review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Supervise the design and ongoing advancement of a project, ensuring coordination with city, state, county officials, and other external agencies.
• Oversee plans and specifications, set schedules, and coordinate electrical engineering activities.
• Prepare documentation required for the commissioning of buildings.
• Resolve various complex challenges, including conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, challenging coordination needs, and technical issue resolution.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
• Generally requires a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
• At least one year of on-site field experience is strongly encouraged.
• US-based Professional Engineer licensure is required.
• Advanced understanding of electrical engineering topics, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, and relevant codes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Map3D, Autodesk Civil3D, Google Earth, PVsyst, PVcase, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), illumination software, and Oracle software related to Engineering Productivity and CAC generation.
