This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Execute all fundamental responsibilities of Engineer II.
• Record meeting minutes for engineering and permitting-related discussions and disseminate action items.
• Analyze technical RFP documents and offer engineering and permitting insights to the estimating team.
• Act as a representative for SOLV’s engineering and permitting teams during pursuit and initial coordination meetings.
• Ensure effective coordination of design deliverables produced by both internal and external stakeholders responsible for the project's scope.
• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of project-specific design requirements, including SOLV standards, owner/contract specifications, and permitting conditions.
• Evaluate consultant deliverables for compliance with project-specific requirements and highlight deviations or risks for escalation.
• Monitor and manage engineering and permitting deliverable timelines in collaboration with project management.
• Serve as the primary contact for all engineering disciplines for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Review and authorize consultant proposals, scopes of work, timelines, and budgets.
• Provide QA/QC oversight for individual consultant work products as well as the fully integrated multi-discipline design.
• Share insights and best practices across projects to enhance future execution.
• Oversee submissions from the Owner, Owner’s Engineer, and Independent Engineer.
• Coordinate review feedback with consultants and track responses until resolved.
• Assist in addressing comments and clarifications from the Owner and Independent Engineer.
• Facilitate permitting efforts by liaising with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) at federal, state, and local levels.
• Participate in in-person AHJ meetings as necessary.
• Monitor engineering and permitting modifications that could affect project scope, costs, or timelines, and escalate risks accordingly.
• Aid in due diligence during RFP phases, including reviewing CUPs, environmental studies, wetlands permits, and associated documentation.
• Assist in the preparation, QA/QC, and submission of permit applications.
• Review EPC contract exhibits concerning owner- and contractor-obtained permits and identify issues or discrepancies.
• Detect gaps in current engineering processes and workflows through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Formulate process updates and standards to enhance the overall efficiency and value of the Engineering team.
• Provide training to the team on process modifications.
• 4–7 years of progressive engineering experience in EPC, renewable energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Solar concentration preferred).
• Engineer-in-Training (F.E.) certification.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to adapt and respond swiftly in a dynamic EPC environment.
• Self-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to project sites or partner offices and work in active construction settings, with reasonable accommodations.
