Engine Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Analyze and Enhance: Evaluate and profile extensive codebases utilizing advanced performance measurement tools like PIX and Razor.

• Boost Performance: Refine specific components of the game, focusing on rendering systems, CPU efficiency, threading, and memory utilization.

• Troubleshoot Complex Systems: Examine and resolve engine-level and platform-specific challenges across console environments.

• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with support teams, gameplay programmers, artists, and client-side developers to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Write Quality Code: Produce concise, maintainable, and efficient C++ code that aligns with studio standards and best practices.

• Assist Console Development: Contribute to optimization and development initiatives for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 platforms.

• Generalist Contribution: Provide support across various development areas including gameplay systems, optimization, tooling, and content-related features based on project requirements.

• Maintain Technical Curiosity: Investigate modern engine technologies, rendering methods, and optimization techniques to continuously enhance development processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in game development with substantial exposure to graphics or low-level engine programming.

• Successfully shipped or contributed to at least one commercial game project.

• Proficient C++ programming skills with an emphasis on optimization and memory management.

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5.

• Experience in optimizing and debugging intricate engine or gameplay systems within large codebases.

• Knowledge of console development for Xbox Series X|S and/or PlayStation 5.

• Proficient in using profiling and performance measurement tools such as PIX or Razor.

• Must be based in Europe and possess a valid work permit for The Netherlands, France, Germany, or the UK (where local contracts can be offered), or be able to work as a contractor.
