This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Act as the main liaison between MPHA executive management and project stakeholders.
• Provide strategic direction for all engagement initiatives.
• Evaluate and authorize significant financial analyses and deliverables.
• Offer advice on accounting practices related to development costs, developer fees, ownership entities, and partnership arrangements.
• Assess project financing structures and financial models.
• Attend meetings with investors, lenders, attorneys, and development partners as necessary.
• Review final cost certifications, financial statements, audit reports, and tax submissions.
• Ensure adherence to HUD, IRS, GAAP, and relevant affordable housing regulations.
• Deliver technical guidance and training to MPHA staff on LIHTC, RAD, bond financing, and development accounting issues.
• Preferred qualification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• At least 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
• Familiarity with affordable housing development, HUD programs, and public sector accounting.
