Engagement Manager – Oil & Gas, Refinery Operations Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Develop and evaluate project proposals and plans to assess timelines, staffing needs, resource distribution, project framework, and execution strategies.

• Collaborate with project personnel to outline work plans and allocate responsibilities and workstream scopes.

• Proactively review status reports and adjust schedules or plans as needed.

• Provide project status updates to management, clients, and/or other relevant stakeholders.

• Establish and sustain effective engagement with the client project team.

• Efficiently manage conflicts and ensure prompt resolution of issues that could impact project success.

• Continuously monitor the achievement of project milestones and sustainable outcomes to guarantee timely and complete delivery within budget.

• Engage in the delivery of training programs while serving as a mentor and coach for Operations professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• An MBA or an equivalent postgraduate degree, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in Oil & Gas Refinery (Chemical Engineering).

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in refinery operations management with strong technical expertise.

• Over 5 years of successful management of workstreams (Blending, Energy Intensity, Hydrocarbon Loss Control, and/or Value Chain Optimization (downstream)).

• At least 5 years of experience with project management processes and methodologies.

• Lean Six Sigma ‘Black Belt’ certification is preferred.

• Proven track record in continuous process improvement.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

• Capacity to remain adaptable and effectively engage and motivate individuals at all organizational levels.

• Willingness to travel 60-100% of the time.

• Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check as part of the application process.
