Energy Storage Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop, design, and implement various components of energy storage initiatives.

• Investigate subject areas and establish the scope of projects.

• Provide engineering guidance and consultancy across interdisciplinary teams.

• Assist in the design phase and engineer significant components for large-scale energy storage initiatives.

• Detect discrepancies in engineering drawings and implement corrective measures.

• Identify and rectify errors in engineering analyses while proposing future solutions.

• Draft technical scopes of work for contractual agreements.

• Support projects from initiation to completion alongside project managers.

• Influence engineering tasks within project teams.

• Monitor project advancement and technical issues.

• Oversee project milestones and assess potential risks.

• Collaborate with suppliers to incorporate major equipment.

• Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend improvements to site design.

• Travel 25% of the time for project-specific duties.

• Report directly to the onsite manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction.

• Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.

• Knowledge of energy storage technologies, encompassing battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.

• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, and relevant IFC/IBC sections.

• Understanding of IEC standards 61215, 61646, and 61730.

• Capability to manage specialized technical tasks effectively.

• Must comply with applicable United States and equivalent export control regulations.
