This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Create and assess building energy models (such as whole-building and measure-level) to calculate energy savings, assist with incentive calculations, and guide program design.
• Conduct technical evaluations of incentive applications, which include energy modeling results and engineering calculations to confirm projected savings.
• Offer technical guidance for new construction initiatives, covering design assessments, energy code compliance pathways, and performance verification.
• Assist in the delivery of multifamily programs, encompassing analysis of building types, system configurations, and measure strategies tailored to low-rise and mid/high-rise properties.
• Work collaboratively with developers, design teams, and trade allies to promote efficient design choices and enhance energy performance in new construction projects.
• Convert energy modeling findings into practical recommendations for program teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Recognize opportunities to improve program offerings by utilizing advanced modeling methods, emerging technologies, and market insights.
• Oversee program measure databases.
• Collaborate with internal QA/QC teams and external evaluators.
• A degree in Engineering from an accredited institution and over 3 years of experience in mechanical, energy efficiency, HVAC, or the utility marketing sector.
• Proficient in energy modeling software with at least 3 years of experience.
• Familiarity with energy modeling software that meets DOE standards, including Ekotrope, REMRate, Trane Trace, IESVE, as well as tools like DesignBuilder or OpenStudio (with associated plug-ins).
• Experience in multifamily or new construction programs.
• Possession of CEM certification, LEED, BPI, or other equivalent certifications.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge and experience with additional building energy technologies.
• Previous experience working from a home office is a plus.
