This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide guidance to individuals and business leaders on a wide range of employment issues, such as hiring, performance management, employee relations, investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence, compensation, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Offer legal advice regarding workforce planning, reorganizations, workforce reductions, and other organizational changes.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to create and implement employment-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Keep track of and advise on developments in employment law throughout the United States, Europe, and APAC.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws in the U.S., as well as relevant European employment regulations.
• Work with external counsel as necessary on country-specific employment challenges and labor law requirements.
• Provide counsel on cross-border employment issues, including international hiring, mobility, remote work arrangements, and employee transfers.
• Lead or assist in internal workplace investigations concerning employee complaints, misconduct allegations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other sensitive issues.
• Oversee employment claims, agency charges, demand letters, and litigation in collaboration with outside counsel.
• Formulate strategies to minimize employment-related risks and resolve disputes effectively.
• Review and draft employment-related documents, including offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, severance agreements, and consulting contracts.
• Assist in due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.
• Provide practical employment law training to managers, People Business Partners, and company leadership.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a recognized law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar association.
• A minimum of 6 years of in-house employment law experience, ideally within a high-growth technology organization.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including federal, state, and local regulations.
• Proven experience advising on European employment laws and practices, including collaboration with employees, HR teams, and external counsel across various European jurisdictions.
• Experience in conducting workplace investigations and managing employment-related disputes.
• Strong skills in drafting, negotiation, and communication.
• Capability to provide practical, business-oriented advice in a dynamic environment.
