This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Managing daily dispatch operations to ensure that runs are correctly loaded and supervised.
• Evaluating team performance while providing guidance and support as necessary.
• Serving as the primary point of escalation for operational challenges within the team.
• Guaranteeing that quality and accuracy standards are consistently upheld across the team.
• Liaising with transport teams and client management to facilitate seamless coordination.
• Recognizing and addressing capacity or process issues before they escalate into problems.
• Assisting in the onboarding, training, and development of new team members.
• Reviewing shift handovers to ensure that accurate notes are communicated between dispatchers.
• Overseeing shift schedules and coordinating coverage among team members.
• Managing escalated or high-stakes situations that necessitate additional judgment or experience.
• Conducting regular check-ins with team members to discuss performance or workload issues.
• Compiling and presenting team performance reports as needed.
• Prior experience in leading, supervising, or mentoring a team in dispatch, medical transport, emergency services, or another similar high-volume coordination setting.
• Confident in decision-making and taking responsibility for outcomes without requiring close supervision.
• Proficient in managing multiple digital communication channels at once (portals, email, messaging platforms, phone) while maintaining priority focus.
• Technologically adept with a quick learning curve for new systems and platforms, as well as the ability to assist others in learning.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing team outputs or resolving discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
• Composed, level-headed, and capable of effective prioritization under pressure, particularly during high-volume periods.
• High integrity and accountability.
• Resilient and emotionally stable – exposure to medical transport scenarios is a part of the work environment.
• Prior experience in the healthcare or medical transport industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with a CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system is a plus.
