Embedded Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design bare metal or RTOS firmware for intricate embedded systems that demand high reliability.

• Create backend and middleware firmware for embedded Linux platforms.

• Provide assistance with the design of peripheral interface electronics and other circuits if desired.

• Uphold coding standards by using intuitive function/object names, clear comments, and flow diagrams.

• Establish test plans and aid in the development of test automation projects to validate code releases.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers to grasp system integration requirements.

• Work alongside technical support personnel to investigate and resolve reported bugs or deficiencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in C++ and/or C programming languages.

• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or Python programming languages.

• Significant experience in complex embedded system design with an emphasis on high reliability.

• Experience in embedded Linux firmware development is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Node.js, SQLite, and ZeroMQ is advantageous.

• Experience in developing graphical user interfaces, network-related programming, or communications APIs for SPI, I2C, or UART.

• Proficient in using Git/Bitbucket version control systems.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred: experience in designing firmware and hardware for complex embedded systems.

• Preferred: knowledge of audio networking, professional audio systems, and related technologies.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with hardware-level troubleshooting and embedded product development.
