Embedded Linux Consultant Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Actively engage in open source projects to maintain Collabora's position as a technical leader.

• Evaluate client challenges and devise solutions utilizing open source technologies and Collabora's expertise.

• Collaborate with the delivery team to define and outline client projects.

• Acquire a thorough understanding of customers’ products, applications, technical strengths, business capabilities, and target markets.

• Engage in discussions about Linux core system technologies with clients and represent the company at conferences and trade shows to showcase our leadership in the open source sector.

• Comprehend client requirements while balancing time constraints, available technologies and resources, and best practices in open source.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Linux (e.g. uBoot, Linux kernel and BSP, Embedded Linux Distros such as Yocto and Debian).

• Familiarity with open source development methodologies and associated open source communities.

• Knowledge of embedded systems based on ARM processors.

• Essential experience with system image creation tools (e.g. debos, wic) and over-the-air (OTA) technologies.

• Experience in creating Debian systems is considered a significant advantage.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a Linux-based environment.

• Experience in software development for embedded Linux systems.

• Familiarity with modern continuous integration tools (GitHub, GitLab).

• Proficient English language skills, both spoken and written.

• Capability to work and communicate effectively in a fully distributed online environment.
