EL/ML Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee instructional programs for ELL students utilizing telephone and Internet platforms.

• Regularly consult with students, learning coaches, and teachers to ensure the success of every ELL student.

• Coordinate language proficiency screenings and assessments as required by Michigan regulations.

• Ensure adherence to state timelines for various tasks.

• Participate in local and state-sponsored professional development training focused on ELL compliance and instruction.

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enhance student learning experiences.

• Evaluate curriculum and create alternative strategies to improve student comprehension.

• Maintain consistent communication with parents and students to develop and revise ELL Program Plans.

• Monitor assignment completion and provide guidance on special projects.

• Conduct ELL-specific conferences in a timely manner.

• Attain proficiency with supplemental programs designed to assist English Language Learners.

• Acquire a general understanding of the MICA’s curriculum.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be qualified and certified to teach the relevant subject in Michigan.

• Preference for candidates residing in Michigan.

• Strong technological proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

• Highly organized and punctual in all tasks.

• Focused on student and family needs.

• High degree of adaptability and flexibility.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated history as a team player.

• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.

• Required travel and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing, throughout the school year as determined by the school, which may involve overnight travel.

• Availability to work occasional evening hours as necessary to support families.
