This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the administration of the ELL K-12 program, providing professional support, training, and services for students and families.
• Implement language acquisition principles to enhance program development, teacher assistance, and student education.
• Counsel administration to guarantee adherence to state and federal regulations.
• Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Customize learning and differentiate instruction based on students' mastery levels.
• Enrich course content with suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools.
• Manage the grade book while upholding student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, informing administrators of any performance issues.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster positive relationships with families, maintaining communication with students and parents or learning coaches.
• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic troubleshooting related to virtual classrooms.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school-related needs.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Active teaching license from the state.
• English Language Learner (ELL) certificate or license.
• If certification is from another state, obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
• Must reside in Indiana.
• Capability to pass a required background check.
• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data for instructional purposes.
• Skill in collaborating with fellow educators.
• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Willingness to adapt and embrace change to ensure optimal student outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to learn and adjust to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification and fulfill professional development hour requirements.
• Familiarity with K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Ability to work independently, typically beyond 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours.
• Preferred: experience with the targeted age group.
• Preferred: experience assisting adults and children with technology.
• Preferred: teaching experience in online or brick-and-mortar settings.
