ELL Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Manage instructional programs for ELL students virtually through telephone and Internet utilizing various curriculum tools.

• Engage in regular consultations with students, Learning Coaches, and teachers to promote the success of each ELL student.

• Organize language proficiency screenings and mandated testing in Michigan.

• Ensure adherence to state timelines for Beginning of the Year, Middle of the Year, and End of the Year tasks.

• Participate in local and state-sponsored professional development training focused on ELL compliance and instruction.

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enhance student learning.

• Evaluate curriculum and create alternative methods for presenting lessons to improve student comprehension.

• Maintain consistent communication with parents and students to develop and update ELL Program Plans and schedules.

• Review assessments, offer feedback on student assignments, recommend instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and guide special projects.

• Conduct timely ELL-focused conferences.

• Achieve proficiency with supplemental programs that aid English Language Learners in a virtual environment, including data interpretation.

• Acquire a general understanding of LCA curriculum as necessary.

• Design and lead staff Professional Learning sessions in ELL areas.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified and certified to teach the relevant subject in Michigan (ESL Endorsement).

• Residency in Michigan is required.

• Strong technological skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Highly organized and punctual.

• Focused approach towards students and families.

• High level of adaptability.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• History of being a team player.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.

• Required travel to and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing, throughout the school year; overnight travel may be necessary.

• Availability for occasional evening hours as needed.

• Must have a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
