Elementary School Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course content in a virtual setting

• Provide instruction, assistance, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Tailor learning experiences and customize instruction based on student mastery

• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to foster learning towards set objectives

• Enhance course materials using synchronous and asynchronous tools under the guidance of principal and coach

• Manage the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families

• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid Alabama state teaching license / Alabama Elementary Teaching Certificate

• Residency in Alabama

• Ability to pass the required background check

• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week

• Ability to sustain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4 as defined by the school

• Experience with the target age group is preferred

• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology is preferred

• Experience teaching either online or in a traditional classroom setting is preferred

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred

• Capability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data to inform instructional decisions

• Ability to collaborate with fellow educators

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred

• Ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
