Elementary School Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Facilitate weekly Zoom meetings with students as the main method of communication, which counts toward the essential student and parent contacts.

• Set and communicate clear expectations and guidelines to both students and their families.

• Be accessible during designated working hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST, to assist with student learning.

• Assist each student in developing and adhering to an educational development plan that keeps them on track toward their objectives.

• Track student progress and offer academic support—including referrals to Academic Tutors—to ensure students remain aligned with grade-level objectives.

• Evaluate assignments and update grades at the end of each semester.

• Ensure students undertake required assessments in Exact Path three times a year.

• Organize virtual field trips and monthly virtual lunch gatherings to boost student engagement.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with the tech support team for resolutions.

• Maintain consistent communication with team leaders and engage in mandatory team and individual meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related discipline.

• Valid Michigan teaching certification.

• If currently outside Michigan, must secure a Michigan certificate within three months of employment.

• Experience in virtual instruction and overseeing an online classroom.

• Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting process.

• Proficiency in digital educational platforms such as Zoom, Exact Path, Seesaw, and Edmentum for digital curricula.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple educational tasks concurrently.
