Elementary School Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum to align with the state's content standards, catering to the individual needs of each student.

• Write and maintain compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to achieve the goals set for each student.

• Educate parents on various instructional strategies to support their children’s learning.

• Prepare necessary documentation related to student progress and IEPs.

• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings to ensure effective communication and planning.

• Proctor achievement tests and other required assessments for students, including alternative assessments when necessary.

• Work with related services teams to ensure that IEP goals are properly developed and monitored.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License.

• A Bachelor's degree and an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and general web skills.

• At least 1 year of classroom experience is preferred.

• A Master’s Degree with a focus in Special Education is preferred.

• 3 or more years of classroom experience specifically in Special Education is preferred.
