This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
• Launch new products and services.
• Contribute to regional sales, order fulfillment, profitability, and ITO quality objectives.
• Develop and present technical solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Influence customer specifications effectively.
• Prepare high-quality proposal content that emphasizes scope, benefits, and compliance.
• Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals.
• Conduct thorough site assessments.
• Determine necessary material and labor requirements.
• Perform competitive analysis to inform business strategies.
• Support engineering work scopes, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Communicate fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations teams.
• Document activities of competitors for strategic insights.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
• Offer technical assistance to the Regional Commercial team in crafting field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization, and automation systems.
• Identify and recommend value-added service solutions for industrial, utility, and commercial clients, including Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred) from an accredited institution with 6 years of relevant experience, OR a High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience.
• Preferred experience with the application of Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions.
• Background in application engineering or field engineering related to power delivery products and systems is preferred.
• Experience working with clients in sectors such as Oil & Gas, metals, mining, paper, Power Generation, data centers, commercial buildings, or similar industries is preferred.
• Proficient in reviewing customer specifications, developing proposals, and managing contract negotiations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Competent in delivering effective presentations and engaging with various organizational levels.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership capabilities with a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to collaborate in team-oriented environments to create complex, integrated solutions.
• Creative problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset in overcoming challenges.
• Capable of developing and writing technical specifications and proposals utilizing the full ABB portfolio.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
• Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time within the designated coverage area.
