This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Evaluate construction blueprints to ascertain the quantities and costs of materials, fixtures, and necessary labor for bidding.
• Support the Estimating department with team bids or take the lead on a team bid.
• Engage with clients and assist the Senior Estimator / Chief Estimator in client outreach and business development efforts.
• Develop and update estimates, proposals, and change orders for both current and potential projects.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction and Operations to create precise proposals encompassing labor, time, and materials.
• Analyze project cost trends to aid in cost reduction and enhancements in processes.
• Oversee the transition of projects from estimating to project management post-award.
• Solicit material and equipment quotes from vendors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to specifications and accuracy of quotes.
• Execute takeoffs for assigned projects.
• Conduct takeoff and specification review tasks for team bids.
• Facilitate or lead team bids by comprehending RFPs, indirect costs, client bid breakdowns, and bid documentation.
• Assign tasks to team members based on their experience and capabilities.
• Carry out design/build bids and identify as well as quantify project uncertainties or ambiguities.
• Collaborate with Engineering to finalize costs and designs.
• Conduct weekly outreach and follow up on outstanding bids.
• Individually bid on projects ranging from $6M to $9M monthly.
• Clarify inquiries and ambiguities prior to bid reviews.
• Perform additional duties as required based on evolving business demands.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as electrical engineering, construction management, etc.) or an Electrical Journeyman’s License is required.
• A minimum of five (5) years of estimating experience in the electrical industry.
• Preferred experience in mission-critical environments, large commercial projects, or water treatment.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential.
• In-depth knowledge of the National Electric Code and electrical theory.
• Proficiency in reading construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets.
• Experience in the layout of electrical equipment and systems, including design/build concepts like electrical one-lines and feeder/branch circuit analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong instructional skills, with the patience to explain both software and electrical concepts to others.
• Effective time management skills through appropriate planning, organization, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to changes in InPwr’s business strategies.
• Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds regularly; may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screening.
• Must fulfill E-Verify, driving record, and background check requirements.
