This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Evaluate construction blueprints to ascertain the quantities and costs of materials, fixtures, and necessary labor.
• Support the Estimating department with team bids or take the lead on a team bid.
• Engage in client follow-ups and assist the Sr. Estimator / Chief Estimator with client outreach and business development efforts.
• Develop and modify estimates, proposals, and change orders.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction and Operations to formulate precise labor, time, and materials proposals.
• Recognize project cost trends to facilitate cost reduction and process enhancements.
• Oversee the transition of projects from estimating to project management upon award.
• Solicit quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers, ensuring adherence to specifications and accuracy of quotes.
• Execute takeoffs for designated projects.
• Perform takeoffs and specification evaluations for team bids.
• Assist or lead team bids by comprehending RFPs, indirect costs, client bid breakdowns, and bid documentation.
• Allocate tasks to team members based on their experience and capabilities.
• Undertake design/build bids and identify and quantify project uncertainties or ambiguities.
• Collaborate with Engineering to finalize costs and design elements.
• Conduct weekly outreach and follow up on outstanding bids.
• Individually bid on projects ranging from $6M to $9M on a monthly basis.
• Clarify any questions and ambiguities prior to bid reviews.
• Perform other assigned responsibilities.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as electrical engineering, construction management, etc.) or possess an Electrical Journeyman’s License.
• At least 5 years of estimating experience within the electrical industry.
• Preferred experience in mission critical, large commercial, or water treatment projects.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
• In-depth understanding of the National Electric Code and electrical theory.
• Proficient in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets.
• Experience in the layout of electrical equipment and systems, including electrical one-lines and feeder/branch circuit analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong instructional skills, with the patience to clarify software and electrical concepts.
• Effective time management, planning, organization, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
• Self-driven and adaptable to accommodate changes in business strategies.

• Must not currently or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
• Must be physically capable of performing essential functions; able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
