This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Create and execute electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, encompassing both medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems.
• Generate and sustain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations, including the National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers and stakeholders to formulate specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
• Examine electrical systems to detect and resolve issues, focusing on load balancing, capacity planning, and optimization of power consumption.
• Oversee and maintain the electrical systems, which includes conducting preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs.
• Establish and implement electrical safety protocols and training programs for technicians and other personnel.
• Keep current with innovations in electrical engineering and data center technologies, recommending new advancements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure.
• Responsible for ensuring project success within the electrical discipline.
• Provide specialized technical guidance to supporting staff, serving as a mentor and leader for mid-level engineers.
• Approve and authorize work, acting in the capacity of Engineer of Record.
• Offer estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to fulfill requirements on large, complex projects.
• Lead technical client relationships and play a significant role in business development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus ten (10) years of pertinent experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, particularly focused on data center infrastructure, or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• A Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is mandatory.
• Extensive background in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC (NFPA70).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with clients.
• Ability to think innovatively and recognize opportunities to improve the client experience.
• Experience with building information modeling (BIM) software, particularly ACC Cloud.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
