This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Offer electrical engineering assistance for modification projects at DOE facilities within industrial, chemical processing, nuclear processing, or other intricate environments.

• Create and assess electrical specifications, calculations, engineering evaluations, statements of work, design drawings, test plans, and technical design documents.

• Aid in the electrical system design for modifications to current facilities, replacement of outdated equipment, start-up operations, and equipment troubleshooting.

• Implement national electrical codes, standards, safety protocols, site procedures, engineering design control standards, and required quality levels.

• Collaborate with project managers, design engineering leadership, discipline heads, client representatives, and technical personnel regarding task execution, reviews, schedules, and site visits.

• Assist with work planning, technical contributions, milestone deliverables, engineering documentation, and design activities specific to tasks.

• Adhere to DOE site access, safety, quality assurance, security, radiological control, and worker health and safety regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field.

• Proven experience in developing electrical engineering design outputs, such as specifications, calculations, evaluations, statements of work, and design drawings.

• Background in industrial settings, particularly within chemical or nuclear processing facilities.

• Required experience with the Department of Energy (DOE).

• Familiarity with supporting engineering tasks in industrial, chemical processing, nuclear processing, environmental, or other complex regulated facility environments.

• Capability to manage task-based assignments ranging from a few weeks to several months.

• Ability to provide individual Kentucky PE license details for proposal submission.

• Willingness to support field visits and/or project meetings at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Paducah, Kentucky, as required.

• Compliance with DOE site access, badging, security, training, safety, quality assurance, and radiological control standards is essential.

• US citizenship is mandatory.
