Electrical Engineer III – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, modification, and assessment of intricate electrical components and systems.

• Engage in advanced projects while collaborating with a diverse group of engineers and technicians.

• Contribute to the creation of innovative solutions.

• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer (RE) for specific technical packages.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering.

• Document design processes, test outcomes, and modifications for future reference.

• Offer technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems and components.

• Attend team meetings and engage in project planning and progress discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent work experience in place of a degree or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience).

• Generally, 5+ years of related professional experience.

• In-depth understanding of electrical principles, tools, methodologies, and practices.

• Familiarity with Electrical and Avionic systems and their operational functionalities.

• Capability to troubleshoot and address more complex issues.

• Willingness to learn and receive guidance and mentorship from more experienced engineers.

• Responsible Engineer (RE) for specific technical packages.

• Ability to operate with minimal supervision on projects that involve both small and large engineering teams.

• Intermediate familiarity with requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation.

• Intermediate understanding of systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.

• Experience conducting trade studies to inform subsystem architecture decisions.
