Electrical Engineer III, Arc Flash

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop electrical systems and carry out detailed design calculations, concentrating on power system analysis.

• Lead and execute Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination utilizing SKM, ETAP, or Easy Power.

• Review, endorse, and seal projects in accordance with relevant codes and standards.

• Perform site visits for data collection, as-built validation, client interaction, Arc Flash labeling, and ensuring electrical safety compliance.

• Assess submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

• Create record drawings.

• Engage in inspections and commissioning activities.

• Draft and revise specifications for electrical equipment and systems, including overcurrent protective devices, switchgear, and transformers.

• Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within financial constraints.

• Assist in the creation of internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.

• Collaborate with Meade team members, clients, vendors, and external stakeholders.

• Provide mentorship to junior staff.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction or power systems sectors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in power-system design for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing, or medical facilities.

• Familiarity with Arc Flash Studies, Protective Device Coordination, and Short Circuit Analysis.

• Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584 standards.

• Preferred familiarity with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications.

• Experience in working independently, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring junior staff.

• Strong grasp of National and International Building Codes.

• Ability to think strategically and exhibit flexibility in achieving long-term goals.

• Self-driven, comfortable with uncertainty, and a team player.

• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM, Revit, and SKM, ETAP, or Easy Power.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
