This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
• Contribute to the creation and development of electrical construction documents, which encompass layouts, details, and specifications.
• Design comprehensive building systems—lighting, power distribution, and specialized electrical systems—across various project types.
• Work in partnership with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and other disciplines to provide cohesive building solutions.
• Interact with clients, assist in proposal development, and play a role in business growth.
• Conduct advanced analysis, calculations, and design evaluations for electrical power and lighting systems.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to generate construction drawings and design electrical systems, including device layouts, circuiting, lighting, and panel schedules.
• Review project requirements and collaborate with other disciplines to enhance design strategies and adapt to changing project conditions.
• Attend client meetings, evaluate project needs, present design concepts, and modify plans to align with client expectations.
• Clearly communicate technical and program information to team members, management, and clients.
• Outline the scope of work, perform site inspections, and ensure quality and compliance during the design process.
• Coordinate or conduct fieldwork to collect data and confirm existing conditions.
• Stay informed about government, military, and industry standards.
• Execute internal technical reviews and quality control assessments on project deliverables.
• Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Edit and review technical specifications and contribute written narratives for project documentation.
• Examine shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and conduct site visits during construction.
• Prepare design fee estimates for proposals and RFPs.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is required.
• Strong visual and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate a proficient understanding of the interrelationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients, and construction.
• Significant experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
