This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Collaborate with the estimating team during the proposal phase to evaluate and create related proposal drawings and scopes of work.
• Create and manage technical documentation for electrical projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
• Generate associated drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and AHJs, to confirm the proper scope of work.
• Work with internal stakeholders such as estimators, project managers, and procurement to ensure the scope of work is clearly understood and supports construction requirements.
• Responsible for the design of electrical systems and conducting necessary calculations.
• Review, sign, and seal project documents.
• Engage in reviews of fellow engineers’ work within the division.
• Some travel will be necessary to meet with vendors, customers, and inspect project sites.
• Proactively manage risks by identifying potential issues early and devising mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards throughout the construction process.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• A valid Professional Engineering license within one year is necessary.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Proven track record of effectively implementing projects while managing time constraints and resource allocation.
• Exceptional time management skills with the capability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Analyze system requirements to ensure compliance with national and local codes, including NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
• Experience with UL 891 Switchboards and UL 1008 Transfer Switches.
• Proficient in designing and modeling lighting photometrics.
• Experience in coordinating utility requirements.
• Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations is required.
• Willingness to travel, occasionally overnight.
