Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Implement electrical designs that range from small, single-year initiatives to extensive multi-year government projects in harsh winter conditions across three (3) Antarctic stations and additional field camps.

• Partner with the Engineering team to create and coordinate safe, technically precise, and cost-effective designs for power distribution and electrical systems.

• Operate both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• Utilize knowledge of engineering principles and practices to prepare engineering deliverables that adhere to relevant codes, standards, and specifications.

• Oversee the design of MV/LV power distribution systems, encompassing power generation, microgrids, and the integration of renewable energy sources.

• Act as the Engineer of Record (PE) for project submittals and technical reviews pertaining to the electrical discipline.

⛳️ Requirements

• A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, along with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.

• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.

• Proven experience with Electrical Engineering principles, design procedures, guides, applicable standards, and administrative practices. This includes engineering systems and calculations, statistical analysis, and the application of technology-aided engineering tools to conventional facility and operations-based engineering challenges.

• Familiarity with instrumentation controls and automation systems.

• Experience with hazard analysis programs, such as ETAP and SKM, to evaluate third-party analyses and recommendations.

• Ability to effectively communicate engineering solutions through verbal, visual, and written means to management, clients, peers, and craft personnel.
