This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +6 more states.
• Supports the execution of projects that are delivered on schedule, within budget, and adhere to industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Takes the lead in scheduling and conducting site surveys to assess existing electrical equipment, interconnections, metering, and overall conditions independently.
• Aids in identifying and preparing energy-efficient scopes during the schematic design phase of projects.
• Conducts electrical system calculations, which include solar energy generation, battery sizing, generator power system sizing, wire and panel sizing, and electric vehicle charging, among others.
• Engages in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as required, and prepares comprehensive meeting notes.
• Develops and prepares documentation for electrical systems related to projects, including solar arrays, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging systems, combined heat and power systems, central energy plant expansion needs, and demand response programs.
• Collaborates with the Mechanical Survey Team to create necessary electrical infrastructure designs that support proposed mechanical equipment modifications or upgrades.
• May involve design tasks related to switchgears, switchboards, manual/automatic transfer switches, transformers, metering, and generators.
• Provides assistance to all Renewables Team members regarding inquiries related to electrical engineering design, codes, and creation of one-line diagrams.
• Aids the development team in coordinating with other disciplines, including energy modeling, demand management, financial modeling, lighting, and detailed design.
• Assists the Director-DER in conducting Quality Control reviews of project work completed by other team members.
• Participates in and/or leads in-house and external training sessions in essential technical areas concerning building systems.
• Engages with industry organizations and attends relevant events, meetings, and activities.
• Upholds the company's advocacy philosophy for owners and maintains alignment with organizational core values.
• Supervises junior engineers, technicians, and/or analysts while managing specific projects.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills along with a keen aptitude.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Effective communication skills for interactions with facility managers and engineers.
• Capable of working independently to meet deadlines while conducting surveys.
• Skilled in time management to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Proficient in utilizing technology and applications for data collection during surveys.
• Demonstrates a passion for quality and client satisfaction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented and eager to tackle multiple ongoing projects in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledgeable about the industry and familiar with the Company's competitors.
