This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• In the role of Global Governance/Strategic Leader, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-managed, enterprise-wide customs compliance and governance framework within the Electrification segment.
• Supervise the comprehensive compliance framework across all business units, ensuring uniform implementation and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Identify areas of customs risk and formulate actionable strategies and procedures to address these risks.
• Assess internal controls and spearhead the execution of suggested improvement plans.
• Lead Customs Compliance Councils to synchronize governance priorities across various regions.
• Keep abreast of changing trade regulations and customs legislation to proactively modify the governance framework.
• Set up governance protocols for compliance coordination across regions; manage BPO partner governance and performance standards in collaboration with regional managers.
• Work alongside Customs Manager(s) to integrate governance standards into team operations and cultivate a compliance-oriented culture.
• Drive strategic transformation initiatives to streamline and standardize customs processes across all regions.
• Collaborate with Customs Manager(s) to jointly develop team capability assessments and competency frameworks that meet governance requirements.
• Offer governance tools, guidance, and escalation pathways to empower Customs Managers in achieving regional objectives.
• Create and sustain governance communications, training programs, and knowledge management platforms to ensure organizational alignment.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or college with a minimum of 5 years of experience in customs processes, OR a High school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in customs processes, OR an in-country Professional Customs Certification or Accreditation with a minimum of 5 years of experience in customs processes.
• An advanced degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Extensive end-to-end knowledge of customs processes, trade compliance, risk assessment, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement governance frameworks, compliance policies, and standardized operating procedures.
• Proven capability to collaborate across all organizational levels and global cross-functional teams, including senior leadership and government bodies.
• Exhibited leadership through influence and coordination within a matrixed organization, promoting process improvement and harmonization across multiple regions without direct authority.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex regulatory topics to diverse audiences.
• Experience in vendor/BPO governance, including SLA management and performance standard-setting.
• Strong analytical skills with a background in compliance metrics, regulatory monitoring tools, and executive-level reporting.
