This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create comprehensive control system design packages from initial concept to final delivery, encompassing wiring, component selection, PLC logic pathways, and system documentation.
• Assess failures or obsolete hardware (such as valves, PLC modules, field instruments, and networked devices) and design modern replacements that seamlessly integrate into DCS networks.
• Assign, update, and document IP addresses, network parameters, and system configurations for devices that are replaced or upgraded.
• Provide design packages to contractors that include drawings, specifications, and network mapping to facilitate installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist with system modernization initiatives involving Westinghouse/Emerson Ovation, AP1000, or comparable platforms by comprehending how subsystems interact across industrial networks.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE preferred) or a related technical field.
• Over 5 years of experience in E&IC engineering, ideally in support of nuclear, utility, or heavy industrial facilities.
• A solid understanding of DCS architectures, control system communication, and the interaction of components within networked environments.
• Experience in control system updates, replacements, troubleshooting, and performance trending.
• Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and system architecture drawings.
• Awareness of cyber-security considerations related to control system design (deep network engineering expertise is not required).
• Familiarity with PLC-based systems, instrumentation, and industrial control devices.
• Strong documentation, communication, and client-facing coordination skills.
